Mobile traders
A mobile trader is considered an establishment that comprises a kitchen or catering facility operating from a mobile unit such as a vehicle, trailer or other non-permanent structure, I.e. burger vans.
Do I need to register?
Mobile traders must register as a food business with the local authority where the vehicle and/or the stocks of food to be sold are ordinarily kept. If this is different from your home address and you are also preparing and/or storing foods for the business at your house, your will also need to register your home address as a food premises with the local authority where you live. If you are a company with a fleet of vehicles, such as ice cream vans, you may need to provide details of each vehicle used.
Registration should be completed at least 28 days before beginning trade.To register download a food registration form, complete and send it to the address on the bottom of the form.
