  • Peregrines

The sandstone cliffs between Hastings and Pett Level are home to two breeding pairs of peregrine. This powerful falcon which specialises in breeding on cliffs and cliff-like structures such as tall buildings is a common sight in Hastings. The birds are regularly seen feeding over the town or along the cliff face hunting feral pigeons. During periods when starlings are roosting on Hastings Pier, such as in late autumn and winter, fantastic views of peregrines can also be witnessed hunting starlings over the pier.
