Bluebells
One of the most anticipated spring wildlife spectacles in Britain is the carpeting of our woodlands and cliff-top grasslands with bluebells. The dense vibrant blue carpets of bluebells in April and May can be experienced at many sites within Hastings.
Marline Wood and Church Wood are the best woodland sites to view spring bluebells and other spring woodland flowers such as ramsons, wood anemone, dog-violets and the scarce coralroot bittercress.
Hastings Country Park Nature Reserve provides the largest display of bluebells in Hastings amongst the cliff-top grassland in Warren Glen and probably the densest population of bluebells in Hastings within Brakey Bank.
