Biological Recording
In the last twenty years there has been a great renaissance in biological recording in the Borough with an increase in active recording and a number of new specialist wildlife societies being formed such the Hastings Botany Group and the Hastings Moth Group. Also the publication, and public availability, of biological information from Hastings has greatly increased due to the internet especially via the Wild Hastings and RX Wildlife websites.
The improvement in digital photography and ease of access to macro photography has made biological recording much more accessible to the general public and new enthusiasts.
To be involved in biological recording in Hastings it is best to join a local, county or national group or society in a wildlife group you are interested in. Naturalists are usually very willing to help with identification and advice and tips on recording.
