Hotlines and out of hours
The quickest and most efficient method of contacting the Council to report an issue or problem is to use the My Hastings online forms. However we have several hotlines to help local residents access services, pass on information, report urgent matters or make complaints. The Council's contact telephones are:
- Litter, graffiti and fly-tipping: 01424 451077
- Collection of bulky household items: 01424 451077
- Street lighting faults: 0345 6080 193. Each street light has a number, please quote when calling. This service is provided by East Sussex County Council.
- Abandoned and untaxed vehicles on the highway in Hastings and St Leonards: 01243 642222
Out of Hours contacts
For services relating to Hastings Borough Council outside normal office hours you can call 01424 451999 and a team of Co-ordinators maintain a 24/7 service to deal with a wide range of emergencies or issues that require urgent attention. We can not deal with enquiries for Hastings Direct Insurance.
Through these Co-ordinators 'out of hours' contact is maintained with the senior officers who will deal with serious public emergencies and liaison with frontline Emergency Services and the technical duty staff, eg Environmental Health Officers, who can intervene to deal with smaller scale urgent matters such as noisy parties, blocked drains and homelessness.
The Co-ordinators are a useful source of information about the out of hours contacts for adjoining Councils, East Sussex County Council and statutory and voluntary other agencies
