Privately Owned Sites
There are privately owned beach huts and boat sites within Hastings and St Leonards, these units are owned by members of the public and are licensed on a rolling basis to licensees who pay an annual ground rent.
The beach huts are located at East of Haven, West of Haven, Glyne Gap East and Glyne Gap West. The boat sites are also on the beach at West of Haven.
Licensees at these sites are required to sign a rolling licence during their occupation and are responsible for paying annual ground rent. The licensee is responsible for all decoration and maintenance of the sites and in the case of boat sites is also responsible for insuring their equipment at all times.
The council is not directly involved in the sale of privately owned huts and equipment, if you are interested in buying a unit please check local estate agent listings.
If you have recently purchased or are in the process of purchasing a hut you must notify us and complete a new site licence, failure to do so may result in your use of the site being terminated.
