    Meeting and conference facilities

    Hastings Borough Council offers meeting facilities for public use in our Muriel Matters House office. Our meeting rooms offer a modern & professional workspace at competitive rates.

    Location and Access

    We are situated in central Hastings and only a short walk from Hastings railway station. There is a large public car park (Pelham Place) just opposite the front entrance of the building and another public car park (Castle Hill) located to the rear.

    Visitors are able to enter the building through our Community Contact Centre Reception located on the Seafront.

    Venue Information

    Our Council Chamber is situated on the Upper Ground Floor and can comfortably hold up to 60 people in a theatre style. The main display in the room is a 75" screen monitor with an additional 3 TV screens throughout the room, with the ability to display to multiple screens at once. Up to 20 wireless conference microphones can be provided should you require.

    If you wish to book one of our Committee Rooms you will have access to a screen to display your presentations (via HDMI). The rooms are clearly labelled in the pictures below. Each room varies in size and shape so let us know what you require and we can find the room to best suit you.

    The price includes tea, coffee and water which can be accessed in our kitchen facilities located on the Upper Ground Floor. Above 30 attendees, a charge of 50p per person will be made for refreshment.

    Registered Charities receive a 50% discount on the above prices.  Please provide your Charity Registration Number when booking.

    Please note we are unable to hire out rooms on the Upper Ground Floor on Tuesdays.
