Norman Heritage Banner Competition
Celebrate Hastings’ Norman Story
This summer, Hastings Borough Council is inviting residents, families, young people, community groups, clubs and local organisations to take part in the Norman Heritage Banner Competition.
We're looking for creative and engaging banner designs inspired by Hastings’ unique Norman heritage, history, landmarks and stories. Selected designs will be professionally printed and displayed along a colourful banner trail running from Hastings Railway Station to Hastings Castle via the Town Hall, seafront and West Hill Lift.
The trail will help bring Hastings’ history to life, creating a vibrant visitor experience that connects Hastings Castle, the Hastings Embroidery exhibition at Hastings Town Hall and rail links to the Bayeux Tapestry exhibition in London.
Along the route, visitors will be able to scan QR codes to discover local history, stories and information connected to each banner design. A free printed trail map will also be available to help people follow the route and explore the town.
