Hastings Embroidery

While the Bayeux Tapestry is on display at the British Museum, you can also discover a millennium of shared Norman heritage through the Hastings Embroidery, a striking continuation of the Bayeux Tapestry story.

Created for the 900th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings, this richly detailed work traces history from 1066 through nine centuries of English life, depicting monarchs, explorers and innovators in beautifully stitched panels.

Blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary vision, the exhibition celebrates storytelling through textile and explores how the Norman legacy continues to shape Britain today.

The embroidery is on display at Hastings Town Hall from Saturday 29 August until Saturday 3 October, open on Thursdays to Mondays.
