Batteries, vapes and small electrical items
If you have a small household batteries, (not industrial or car batteries) small electrical items (for example, toasters) or vapes for recycling, please place these in a separate bag (not black) on top of either your rubbish bin or recycling bin for collection.
If you have weekly collections, please place household batteries, small electrical items or vapes in a carrier bag next to your seagull proof sack or black bags. These items should not be put in with your recycling or waste.
Textiles
These can be recycled at your local Household Waste Recycling Site and at some Neighbourhood Recycling Points.
Anglo Doorstep Collections
Hastings Borough Council has partnered with Anglo Doorstep Collections. The free collection service makes it simple and stress-free to give your pre-loved clothes, shoes, small electricals, kitchenware, and other small household items, a second life - all while supporting fantastic charitable causes.
When you book a collection, every item you donate is carefully repurposed or reused just as intended. This small act creates a meaningful impact by reducing waste, cutting carbon emissions, and conserving thousands of megalitres of water each year.
