Transport funding to support schools at CIFF
Published 26/03/2026

Hastings Borough Council is excited to be working with the Children’s International Film Festival (CIFF) to bring the event to Hastings on Thursday 18 June. We are pleased to announce that we have been able to provide funding towards transport costs for at least 800 pupils to attend from schools across the town.
The CIFF will bring interactive filmmaking workshops with industry professionals from organisations including The BFI, BAFTA, Access NFTS, The Bright Foundation, The Bright Foundation and The British Museum. The day itself will feature screenings of films made by young people from across the south coast, the UK and internationally. The day will culminate in a celebratory awards gala at the White Rock Theatre.
Cllr Julia Hilton, deputy leader of Hastings Borough Council and lead councillor for shaping place and local government reorganisation said: “We’re delighted that the Children’s International Film Festival is coming to Hastings in 2026 and that we are able to support our local schools with funding towards their transport costs. We want to make culture accessible to our young people, so being able to fund transport for children across Hastings’ schools is fantastic news. We are really looking forward to seeing all the creations on screen and all the opportunities it will bring.”
