Hastings Borough Council's Cabinet is due to hear an update on the £24m Town Deal programme within the town at their next meeting on Monday 6 November.

The report details how seven projects are now completed, including the Churchfields Business Centre, Hastings Commons (Observer Building Creative Technology Hub) and the Freedom Works co-working space in the upper floors of the former Debenhams building.

Work is progressing on the Hastings Castle project with a call for expressions of interest launching on Friday 27 October. The Town Centre public realm project is also progressing with consultants being appointed to continue design work and start consultation.

The council is also now working with Homes England on the station gateway project. A Strategic Regeneration and Investment Framework will support the identification, coordination, and effective management of work to help encourage more investment within the town centre from both the public and private sector.

Cllr Maya Evans, lead councillor for regeneration, said: "We are pleased that Hastings' Town Deal projects are progressing, this investment through the Towns Fund Programme is key to reviving our town centre. The external funding is allowing investment in key heritage assets, buildings in the town centre and improvements to the public realm. All projects also create environmental and green technology improvements with employment and training opportunities for local people. We are looking forward to seeing further progress on these projects in the coming weeks, with the projects all due to be completed in the spring of 2026."

The update report follows the latest Town Deal Board meeting which took place on Wednesday 25 October and included detailed presentations from the Hastings Commons and public realm project teams. This meeting will be available to watch back to on the council website in the coming days.

You can find the full agenda online and you can watch the Cabinet meeting online from 6pm on Monday 6 November.
