Battle Road update 9 March 2022

As with any major demolition project, issues often are unearthed once works start and parts of the structure are removed, this is the case with the Battle Road wall.

After the recent storms, council contractors have carried out a safety inspection of properties which share a boundary with 2-12 Battle Road, and discovered some further issues that need to be addressed with the owners.

Because the wall is a dangerous structure, the council must continue to demolish it, however whilst there is a pause in works, the structure itself has been additionally supported and is safe.

We apologise for the continuing disruption to Battle Road and the surrounding areas, but ensuring this work is carried out as safely as possible is of upmost importance. Once we are clear about the timescale for works to re-start, we will update further.
