New Active Hastings sessions for 2024
Published 22/01/2024

Active Hastings are excited to announce there are a number of new low-cost physical activity sessions coming to the town for local children.
A new netball session for children in years 7 to 11 (from any secondary school or home schooled) is making its way to The St Leonards Academy. The netball session will take place every Tuesday (during term time) from 16 January. Eugenie, an Active Hastings Level 2 Netball Coach, will lead the weekly sessions, which are funded by the Opening School Facilities fund. The light-hearted sessions are suitable for all abilities and are designed to ensure everyone feels included and has fun. The session will give young people the opportunity to learn new netball skills that can also be transferred into other team/ball sports. Sessions cost £3 per week.
Also, due to popular demand, Grant from Sussex Volleyball will be running a new volleyball session, every Saturday at The St Leonards Academy (until 10 February), with thanks to funding from the Primary Care Network. The sessions will involve an introduction to various skills, drills and games, in a fun and friendly environment. No previous experience of the game is required, everyone is very welcome. There are two sessions available, one for children aged 10 to 13, which takes place on Saturdays from 12noon to 1pm and a separate session for children aged 14 to18, which takes place on Saturdays from 1pm to 2pm. Sessions cost £3 per week. (These courses are no longer available. Please see our other courses on the Active Hastings listings page)
Sarah, Active Hastings Youth Link Worker, said: "We are delighted to continue providing new and exciting opportunities to young people of Hastings. These sessions are designed to provide a fun and inclusive environment for local children to try their hand at different sports."
