This Christmas Active Hastings are offering free activities and food as part of their Christmas Activities and Food Programme.

The free multi-sports, arts and craft sessions take place on Monday 19 December at Broomgrove Community Centre and Tuesday 20 December at Hollington Youth Centre. The sessions are for young people (7-16 year olds) in receipt of benefit-related free school meals.

Councillor Andy Batsford, lead councillor for Health and Culture at Hastings Borough Council, said: "Our Christmas Holidays Activities and Food programme is a great way for children to stay active and healthy over the Christmas period, whilst enjoying a nutritious lunch. The Christmas sessions are part of the Government's Holiday Activities and Food programme, which enables children to enjoy free fun activities, make new friends and learn and develop new skills."

Spaces are limited to 25 young people per session, so book early to avoid disappointment. You can book your space and free meal by visiting: eequ.org/activehastings

Active Hastings is hosted by Hastings Borough Council, in partnership with East Sussex County Council, and brings together a wide range of local and national partners to ensure that everyone in Hastings can get active. There are a range of exercise classes to suit everyone, visit Active Hastings for the list of activities happening near you.

    Editor's Note

Active Hastings works closely with local providers of physical activity to give you easy, fun ways to get your everyday dose of physical activity. It only takes 30 minutes a day for adults and 60 a day for children to get fitter, healthier and happier. You can even break it down into 10 minute slots!
Active Hastings coordinates the local Community Physical Activity Network, which brings together schools, sport clubs, National Governing Bodies of Sport, health organisations, the voluntary sector and the private sector to work together, unblock barriers to participation and improve the local sport and physical activity delivery system.
