Creating Change: A panel discussion on community, green space, and looking forward with hope
Published 11/11/2025

Hastings Museum & Art Gallery is holding a panel discussion about the future of our town and our planet on Saturday 29 November, 2 to 4pm.
The discussion will be hosted by Laura Ribbons, artist and curator of Plants Make Places, and will feature climate-conscious artists, Dr JC Niala, Rowan Corkill, and Christina Peake.
Together, these creative voices will explore how artistic practice, local activism, and global insight can mobilize impactful action against the climate crisis, building more resilient communities and envisioning a greener, more sustainable Hastings in the years to come. The panellists will take their cues from artwork created by school children in response to the idea of a future Hastings. At the end of the talk attendees will be invited to write a pledge for one positive change they can make in their lives, which will be delivered back to the children.
The session is being supported using public funding from Arts Council England.
