October entertainment for the whole family at Hastings Museum & Art Gallery

If you are looking for something to do over the upcoming October half term, there are lots of fun activities planned at Hastings Museum & Art Gallery.

Crowley's Curse - until 1 November
Learn about the infamous Aleister Crowley who lived out his final days in Netherwood house, Hastings. Legend has it that Crowley placed a curse on the town, that if you have lived in Hastings, you can never leave and if you try, you will always come back. Suitable for age 16 and over. On display in the Brassey Lobby during museum opening hours.

Halloween Trail - 23 to 29 October

Make your way through the museum on the Halloween Trail and discover the spine-tingling objects and stories on display. Entry is free and there is no need to book. Suitable for age 7 and over.

Boo-tiful Costumes Galore - 23 to 29 October

Come dressed in your most spooktacular costume this Halloween and haunt the halls of Hastings Museum. Don't forget to take some photos and share your costumes on social media. Suitable for all ages.

Lego Lab - 27 October at 10.30am to 12pm and 1.30pm to 3pm
Have fun building LEGO® programmable machines and creatures. £5 per kit; each kit can accommodate two children (each ticket represents one kit). Suitable for age 5 and over.

Stored Out of Sight - on display until 16 December
Disabled people have always been part of history, but their stories have often been in the background. This co-produced exhibition funded by the Curating for Change project explores objects hidden in the store that relate to Hastings' disability past. Through these stories and those of contemporary activism, the exhibition highlights the social and environmental barriers that disable people face daily.

Oneiropraxis - on display until 29 October
Oneiropraxis is an exhibition of oil paintings and drawings by the visionary artists Melissa Artemis Shemanna and Orryelle Defenestrate-Bascule. Their work combines the surreal, the abstract, and imagery drawn from ancient civilisations and esoteric traditions to create unique visual dreamscapes. Suitable for age 16 and over.
