Licensed Vehicle information

Responded Fri 12 December 2025I am submitting a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to obtain information on vehicles currently licensed for public hire (Hackney Carriage and Private Hire) with your authority.
Please provide a list of all vehicles that are currently registered, including the following details:
Vehicle make, model and registration number (VRM)
Vehicle licence issue and expiry date
If any of the requested information is not available or cannot be disclosed, I would be grateful if you could provide a detailed explanation, including any exemptions that apply under the Act.
Additionally, could you please confirm whether Hastings Borough Council maintains a publicly accessible vehicle taxi register on its website? Some councils publish this information online, which can reduce the time and involvement required from FOI teams.
