Responded Tue 03 June 2025I am writing to make a Freedom of Information request for the following information.
Over the last 10 years (since April 2015):
1. How many complaints have been made to this authority against gyms?
2. How many separate gyms have had complaints made against them?
3. What was the nature of these complaints?
4. What action was taken by the enforcement authority?
5. How many formal notices were issued (enforcement, prohibition, and so on)?
6. How many gyms were fined?
7. What was the value of each fine?
8. Was there any further legal action taken and if so, how many instances and what was the outcome?
9. How many visits to gyms have been made to check on Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or Food Hygiene issues, and how many visits of each type?
10. What was the outcome of each of these visits?

f. Music noise - Complainant did not follow up with officers
g. No running water - Resolved before officer intervention
h. Injury - Health and Safety investigation - protocols correct and followed Injury - Complainant did not follow up with officers
