I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 regarding complaints and updates to the bathrooms of council-owned properties during the period 1st January 2024 to 31st December 2024.

Please can you provide me with:

1. The number of complaints relating to bathrooms during the time frame.

2. The type of complaint, for example, mould, leaks, not fit-for-purpose fixtures, and so on).

3. Whether those complaints have been resolved and the work carried out.

4. Date of resolution (if applicable).

5. The number of works completed to bathrooms during the time frame (with or without complaints).

6. The type of works completed (for example, maintenance, mould removal, refit, and so on).

Please accept my apologies for the delay in responding.

Hastings Borough Council completed a large scale voluntary transfer of our housing stock in 1996 and subsequently only has a relatively small housing portfolio used for temporary accommodation. We have no formal complaints recorded pertaining to bathrooms in 2024.

We currently do not hold a works database to extract the information requested regarding bathroom works. We did not carry out major works to any bathrooms in our handed over stock in 2024.

We have an acquisition programme which includes purchasing properties and carrying out refurbishments, including bathroom upgrades, to ensure that they are brought up to the Council's Fit to Let Standard. Any works are carried out prior to handover.
