Please can you provide me with the following information under the Freedom Of Information Act 2000.

Within the individual billing authorities you administer, if more than one, if possible, please give information at individual billing authority level.

1. What percentage of all hereditaments in your billing authority that are entered into the rating list have been awarded Business Rates Relief: Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Scheme for the current 2023/24 rate year?

2. Please give a complete list of the description of properties that have been awarded Business Rates Relief: Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Scheme for the current 2023/24 rate year. By 'description' we mean the property description as entered into the rating list by the valuation office.

3. Is Business Rates Relief: Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Scheme for the current 2023/24 rate year automatically awarded or does it need to be requested/applied for by the rate payer or their agent?

4. If automatically awarded, please specify the description of property that is automatically awarded Business Rates Relief: Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Scheme for the current 2023/24 rate year. By 'description' we mean the property description as entered into the list by the valuation office.

Please accept my apologies for the lengthy delay in responding.

1. 13.9% of all hereditaments receive the relief.

2. Please see attached spreadsheet.

3. Automatically awarded in some cases, applications required in other cases.

4. A local business may not have to apply if they occupy a shop, cafe, licensed premises, holiday accommodation (for example, hotel/self catering, and so on).
