Spending on temporary accommodation

Responded Thu 27 August 2026Please provide the following under freedom of information laws:
- The total sum spent on temporary accommodation by the council for each of the financial years (1 April to 31 March): 2020-21, 2021-22, 2022-23, 2023-24, 2024-25, 2025-26
- The number of households in temporary accommodation on 31 March 2024, 2025 and 2026. Count any household that the council has placed and is funding, whether that is within the borough or not.
- How many of those households included children for each year
- For 2026, How many households including children were housed in B&Bs
- For 2026, How many households including children were housed in B&Bs for longer than six weeks
- For 2026, the three longest times that a household on that list had been in temporary accommodation
- The number of households on the council’s waiting list for long-term social housing as of 31 March 2026
- The three longest times that a household on that list had been waiting
