Responded Mon 30 March 2026Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, please could I ask for the following information.
1. Please set out the manner in which the Council records decisions to outsource the provision of services in a given service area (i.e. decisions to move from direct Council provision of a service, to procuring that service from an external provider via a public sector contract).
2. Please set out the number of decisions made to outsource a service (as defined above), in each of the following financial years:
· 2021/2022;
· 2022/2023;
· 2023/2024;
· 2024/2025;
· 2025/2026 to date.
3. For each of the decisions referred to in question (2), please set out which service was outsourced in each case.
4. Please set out how much the Council spent on public sector contracts relating to each outsourced service specified in response to question (3), in each of the following financial years:
· 2021/2022;
· 2022/2023;
· 2023/2024;
· 2024/2025;
· 2025/2026 to date.

1. Please set out the manner in which the Council records decisions to outsource the provision of services in a given service area (i.e. decisions to move from direct Council provision of a service, to procuring that service from an external provider via a public sector contract).
Answer: A researched business case setting out relative the merits and disadvantages of the outsourcing of services is put before cabinet. The decision, report and supporting evidence are kept as part of meeting minutes.
