Answer: The income offsets any spend within the Parks service reducing the overall cost.
Maintenance cost over last 3 years:
2022-23: £933,142.17
2023-24: £971,122.91
2024-25: £1,117,264.10
- Can you tell me, are your parks currently maintained by the council or by an external contractor? Over the past three years have they been maintained by the council or by an external contractor?
Answer: Hastings Borough Council manages their grounds maintenance service in-house. Hastings have historically contracted this service out to external contractors but brought this back in house in November 2023.
- Can you tell me what your council maintenance budget has been over the past three years?
Answer: Circa £1m per annum for total GM service including staffing costs
