Please accept this as a formal request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

I am requesting access to all correspondence, including but not limited to emails, letters, and internal memoranda, exchanged between leaders of the council (including council chief executives and council leaders) and officials within the Department of Local Government (including ministers, their offices, and departmental staff).

This correspondence should relate to the possible or actual postponement of local elections local elections and must contain any or all of the following phrases: "illegal", "legal", "unlawful", "lawful".

Please provide this information for the period spanning from December 1 2025 and February 16 2025.

If my request is too broad, please assist me in refining it. If any part of this request falls under an exemption, please specify which exemption is being applied and why.

I would prefer to receive the information electronically, if possible.
