BioHazard/Deep Cleaning in Council Homes

Responded Tue 17 February 2026Under the Freedom of Information Act, I would like to request the following information.
· How much, if at all, has the council paid in regular at-home cleaning costs for council-housed residents during a tenancy, over the last 10 years - broken down by yearly cost?
· How many properties did these regular at-home cleaning costs relate to?
· How much has the council paid in biohazard or deep cleaning services related to the interiors of council hous, over the last 10 years - broken down by yearly cost?
·
· How many properties did these biohazard or deep cleaning costs relate to?
· Of these properties, how many have mentioned 'hoarding', 'filthy' or 'verminous' within the report?
· How many tenants have been evicted by the council, where filthy, verminous, hoarding or biohazard has been mentioned as part of the complaint or eviction process? - over the last 10 years, broken down by year.
· How much was spent on these eviction processes, for cases where filthy, verminous, hoarding or biohazard has been mentioned as part of the complaint or eviction process?
· How much has been spent on damage repair on council houses, where filthy, verminous, hoarding or biohazard has been mentioned as part of the report?

Hastings Borough Council holds no information in respect of this request.
Hastings Borough Council carried out a large scale voluntary transfer of all its housing stock in 1996 and subsequently only has a relatively small housing portfolio.
