Responded Wed 05 November 2025I would like to request the following information under the Freedom of Information Act.
1. Please tell me how many meetings including online meetings have taken place between the Stove Industry Association or Stove Industry Alliance and council staff between 31st October 2020 and the latest date for which records are available.
2. Please provide all correspondence received by the council from the Stove Industry Association or Stove Industry Alliance between 31st October 2020 and the latest date for which records are available.
3. If possible, please tell me how much money the council has spent on public health campaigns related to wood burning stoves in each of the following years:
a. 2024/25
b. 2023/24
c. 2022/23
d. 2021/22
e. 2020/21
4. Is the council planning any public health campaigns related to wood-burning stoves this year 2025/26? If yes, how much is it planning to spend?
5. Does the local authority contain Smoke Controlled Areas?
6. How many complaints has the local authority received about wood-burning stoves in a) 2024/25, and b) 2023/24?
7. How many enforcement actions has the local authority taken regarding use of wood-burning stoves in a) 2024/25, and b) 2023/24?
8. Please state whether the figures in question 7 related to warning notices, inspections, fines or prosecution.

6. Any complaints regarding wood-burning stoves fall under the complaint type 'smoke from a domestic premises'. We are not able to differentiate between these, bonfires or other types of smoke produced on our system in order to answer this question.
