Street Collection Permits

I am writing to you pursuant to my rights under Section 1(1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA), which entitles any person making a request for information to be informed in writing by a public authority whether it holds the information requested, and, if so, to have that information communicated.

Accordingly, I request disclosure of the following for the period 1st August 2024 to the present date:

1. A complete record of all street collection permits issued by Hastings Borough Council, including:

a. The name of the organisation or individual to whom each permit was issued.

b. The authorised date(s) of the collection.

c. The authorised location(s) for the collection.

2. Confirmation of whether any street collection permits have been issued during the specified period to:

a. Hastings Friends of Al-Mawasi

b. Hastings Palestine Solidarity Campaign

c. Hastings and Rye Palestine Solidarity Campaign

For efficiency, and in accordance with Section 11(1)(a) FOIA (means of communication), I request that the information be supplied in an electronic format, preferably Excel or CSV.

As provided by Section 10(1) FOIA, the Council is obliged to respond promptly and in any event within 20 working days of receipt of this request.

If it is considered that any part of the information requested is exempt under the Act, please provide a written refusal notice citing the specific exemption(s) relied upon, as required under Section 17(1) FOIA, and explain how they apply. Where only part of the information is exempt, the remainder should be disclosed.
