Responded Fri 20 September 2024I would like to make a Freedom of Information Requests to understand more about how you manage and procure home extensions for your local authority housing.
1. Who is the main contact in your local authority who manages the extensions of local authority homes?
2. Who is the head of Housing in your local area (If not the same person above)?
Please answer the following questions for Social Housing (Housing Revenue Account) as well as extensions funded via DFG (owner occupied, RSL, and so on).
3. How many single storey extensions are you predicting to build in this financial year 2024/25, what is the expected spend?

b. DFG spend
4. How many single storey extensions did you build in the previous financial year 2023/24, what was the spend?

5. What is your budget for the next financial year (2025/26) for home extensions on social housing?
6. Do you have an approved list of builders who build home extensions for your local authority housing and DFG funded extensions?

Please accept my apologies for the delay in responding.
The council completed a large scale voluntary transfer of its housing stock in 1996 and subsequently only has a small portfolio of homes used for temporary accommodation.
1. We do not have plans to carry out extensions to any homes that we currently own.

3a. Not applicable, we do not have a Housing Revenue Account.
3b. We Currently only have one small extension planned under a DFG at an approximate cost of £41,000.
4a. Not applicable, we do not have a Housing Revenue Account.
4b. We built one extension under a DFG on a privately owned property during the last financial year art an approximate cost of £120,000.
5. Not applicable, we do not have a Housing Revenue Account.
6ai. Not applicable.
6aii. The Council does not have an approved list of builders for DFG funded extensions.

7. There are a number of Housing Associations who own and manage social housing in Hastings, namely Southern Housing and Orbit. We do not hold information on the contact details for the person responsible for home extensions
