Trees - Emergency Tree Plan and other information

Responded Thu 14 March 2024In 2020 the Woodland Trust published its Emergency Tree Plan for the UK:

The plan recommended that councils:
a. Write an Emergency Tree Plan to identify land for trees, and set annual expansion targets, whilst protecting existing native woodland and trees.
b. Ensure all development land includes a minimum 30% tree canopy cover.
Please provide under EIR:
1. A copy of HBC's Emergency Tree Plan.
2. A copy of any HBC documents that identify land for trees, set expansion targets or detail protection measures.
3. Documents describing measures that have been taken by HBC to ensure all development land includes a minimum 30% tree canopy cover.
4. A catalogue of trees that are owned by HBC describing location and species of tree.
5. Maps of the trees owned by HBC.
