Knotweed in Old Roar Gill

Responded Fri 08 March 2024There have been reports of Japanese Knotweed growing in Old Roar Gill.
Old Roar Gill is a local nature reserve owned and managed by HBC.
Japanese Knotweed is an invasive species. Landowners have an obligation to manage knotweed and to control its spread.
Please provide under EIR all information (in any format) that you hold concerning:
1. Reports of Japanese Knotweed in Old Roar Gill.
2. Measures taken by HBC to manage and control the spread of Japanese Knotweed within Old Roar Gill.
3. Records of site visits and internal documentation concerning Japanese Knotweed in Old Roar Gill.
Response
1. Please see the attached extract from the 2023 Japanese Knotweed spraying programme.
2. Japanese Knotweed included on the annual spraying programme is treated three times a year in May, July, and August. The spraying of Japanese Knotweed continues until eradication.
3. Please see the attached. These are kept for each annual spray.
