I am writing to you to request the following information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Please note that for the below questions 1, 2 and 3 cattle grids are defined as 'a device designed to prevent the passage of animals, or animals of any particular description, but to allow the passage of all or some other traffic, and includes any fence or other works necessary for securing the efficient operation of the said device'.

1. Does the council currently have a policy of removing existing, or not installing new cattle grids? If so, why?

2. For the years 2020, 2021, 3033, and 2023 (to end of September 2023), please provide:

a. The number of cattle grids on roads maintained by the council.

b. The number of cattle grids removed by the council.

c. The number of ne cattle grids installed by the council.

d. The number of accidents involving animals and cattle grids.

e. The number of accidents involving people and cattle grids.

f. The number of complaints involving cattle grids.

g. The number of requests for removal of cattle grids.

h. The number of requests for implementation of new cattle grids.

3. For the years 2020, 2021, 3033, and 2023 (to end of September 2023), please provide:

a. The expenditure on implementing new cattle grids.

b. The expenditure on repairing existing cattle grids.

c. The expenditure on removing cattle grids.
