Waste Complaints

I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information from Hastings Borough Council.

Please could you list all of the complaints related to waste/refuse collection between 1st September 2022 and 1st Sept 2023 (if this is unavailable within the most recent 1-year period), with the following headers:

1. Complaint number

2. Date of complaint

3. Category of complaint (for example, bin not collected, bin men are too noisy, bin not clean, bin broken, cannot find bin, and so on)

4. Type of collection (for example, commercial/industrial, or domestic complaints)

Type of bin (for example, paper and cardboard, plastics and metal, garden waste, general waste - list multiple bins if relevant)

Please see the Excel spreadsheet attached.

All complaints are domestic as we are unable to break down into further categories.

'Complaint collections' and 'complaint crew behaviour' selected which are the only two complaint options we have. This includes complaints about missed bins, where crews have left bins, crew behaviour, spillages, other collections related, property damage/loss.

We are also unable to break down the missed bin complaints into refuse, recycling or garden waste.
