Please can you advise the following under the Freedom of information Act.

1. How many Airbnb and holiday rentals are there within the Borough as of now?

2. How many long term residential rentals are there in the Borough as of:

a. 1st January 2020

b. 1st January 2021

c. 1st January 2022

d. 1st January 2023

3. How many 2nd homes are there in the Borough as of now?

4. How many residential properties are there in the Borough as of now?

5. How many empty properties are in the Borough?

6. Has the population of the Borough increased or decreased over the period 2010 to date?

Response

1. 125, as of 14.06.2023 (listed on Non-Domestic Rates records as Self Catering Holiday Unit).

2. Information not held - there are no indicators within our system that can identify whether a property is owned for occupation or owned for rental.

3. There are 739 properties (domestic) listed as Empty-Furnished/Second Homes (due to the classification being the same for either it is not possible to confirm how many out of 739 are second homes).

4. 44,138 as of 14.06.2023 from the Valuation Office List.

5. There are 1,263 domestic properties showing as empty/unfurnished.

6. 92,855
