Coronation parties

Following on from a letter dated the 2nd February by Baroness Scott encouraging councils to apply for funding of up to £10,000 from the National Lottery to host Coronation parties, I would like to ask:

1. Has your council applied for funding from the National Lottery to host a Coronation party? If yes, please give details on how much was awarded and for what.

2. Will your council be having a Coronation party which is organised by the council, meaning paid for, hosted, and attended by a council representative, for example a mayor or council leader?

Response

1. Hastings Borough Council has not applied for any funding from the National Lottery.

2. Hastings Borough Council will not be organising any events for the Kings Coronation.
