I am writing to make an open government request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. I would like answers to the questions below to be provided to me via email.

I recently submitted a similar request on 17/01/2023, however given the responses received I have simplified this request. Please discard the previous request and provide answers to the below.

1. How many formal complaints have you received from citizens from 1st January 2022 to 31st December 2022 (inclusive)?

Here, complaints are defined as any expression of dissatisfaction with the council's services, whether justified or not.

2. How many of the above formal complaints have been escalated to another stage?

3. If possible, how many formal complaints have you received from citizens from 1st January 2021 to 31st December 2021 (inclusive)?

4. How many of the above formal complaints have been escalated to another stage?

Response

1. 1st January 2022 - 31st December 2022 formal complaints (Stage 1) = 526

2. Escalated (Stage 2) = 34

3. 1st January 2021 - 31st December 2021 formal complaints (Stage 1) = 466

4. Escalated (Stage 2) = 12
