Tonnage of waste submitted to landfill sites

I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information.

Please can you provide the following:

1. The total tonnage of waste submitted to landfill sites in your division between the following periods:

a. 1st January 2020 - 31st December 2020

b. 1st January 2021 - 31st December 2021

c. 1st January 2022 - 31st December 2022

2. The average tonnage of waste sent to landfill sites in your division per day.

Response

Hastings Borough Council is unable to answer average tonnage per day due to not having this information. East Sussex County Council is the waste disposal authority, please visit their website for further information:

Total tonnage sent to landfill, we can only provide up to end of June 2022 (1 quarter).

Unfortunately, figures for October to December do not get sent to us until the end of March, July to August get sent end of December, they always run 1 quarter behind. Our reports are also run by financial years, 1st April to 31st March.

1st April 2019 - 31st March 2020 - 572.49 tonnes - 1.91% of yearly total

1st April 2020 - 31st March 2021 - 219.57 tonnes - 0.66% of yearly total

1st April 2021 - 31st March 2022 - 98.68 tonnes - 0.30% of yearly total

1st April 2022 - 30th June 2022 - 53.78 tonnes - 0.66% of total so far
