Responded Tue 18 October 2022Please could you provide the following information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
1. How much money was your council granted by the Department for Work and Pensions during tranche 2 of the Household Support fund (that is, money granted for 1st April 2022 to 30th September 2022)?
2. How much money did your council spend of the granted money from tranche 2 (that is, money spent 1st April 2022 to 30th September 2022?
3. Were any restrictions placed on how you could spend this money? If so, what were they?
Response
1. £412,280 actually received. £362,806 available after 12% admin costs deducted.
2. £362,760 spent.
3. We had to ensure funding was distributed evenly between pension age and working age applicants. The money was therefore distributed to households through two separate schemes, a Working Age Household Support Fund and a Household Support Fund for pensioners.
Eligibility for the working age scheme was:
• Applicants must be over the age of 18
• Resident in Hastings Borough
• Receiving one of the following benefits:
o Universal Credit
o Housing Benefit
o Pension Credit
o Council Tax Reduction
o Working Tax Credit
o Income Support
o Income Based Job-Seeker's Allowance
o Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
Eligibility for the scheme for pensioners was:
• Applicants must be of state pension age
• Resident in Hastings Borough
• Receiving one of the following benefits:
o Universal Credit
o Working Tax Credit
o Housing Benefit
o Pension Credit
o Council Tax Reduction
