Responded Wed 26 October 2022
Please provide the number of households, initially assessed by your local authority as being owed a homelessness duty, between April 2021 and March 2022 where cases were recorded as being homeless on departure from an institution (including 'Custody', 'general hospital', and 'psychiatric hospital'). Please disaggregate data by:
• Month of assessment
• Departure institution 'type' (for example, 'Custody', 'general hospital', and so on)
• Duty decision (for example, 'living with friends', 'supported housing/hostel', 'private rented sector')
Please exclude any cases which had not received a main duty decision as of 31 March 2022.
Of the 28x 'departure from institution' cases initially assessed between April 2021 and March 2022 as being owed a Prevention Duty or Relief Duty, only 8x cases went on to a Main Duty decision stage.
