Planning applications
Requested Wed 23 June 2021
Responded Tue 02 November 2021For each of the last five financial years, including as much of 2021/22 as you have data for, please could you tell me:
1. How many planning applications did the council decide? How many homes did these applications contain?
2. How many of those applications, representing how many homes, were approved? How many applications, representing how many homes, were rejected?
3. Of the rejections, how many were appealed by the applicant?
4. Of those appeals, how many were successful? How many unsuccessful? And how many have yet to be decided?
5. How much did these appeals cost the council? If possible, please break down into the council's own legal cost, the applicant's legal costs which the council was ordered to cover, and so on?
6. In addition to, and separately from, the costs covered in question 5, how much does the council estimate it needs to set aside/has set aside to cover the cost of appeals that have not yet been heard?
