Support Exempt Accommodation

I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information from your local authority area.

I would like to request the following data:

a. How many Support Exempt Accommodation providers there are in your authority area, for each of the past 3 calendar years?

b. How many residents currently live in Support Exempt Accommodation, for each of the past 3 calendar years?

c. What is the total enhanced housing benefit paid to the Support Exempt Accommodation sector in each of the past 3 calendar years?

d. How many claims have been approved for enhanced housing benefit for those who live in Supported Enhanced Accommodation in each of the past 3 calendar years?

Please provide the information in the form of an Excel spreadsheet.

Response

a. There are currently 14 providers of Specified and Exempt accommodation in the Hastings area - 13 of these have existed in Hastings for all of the last three years and 1 provider was new to the area in 2020.

NOTICE OF REFUSAL

It is not possible to isolate and output the data requested for questions b, c and d. This would require manual intervention and would far exceed the time limit set out by the Information Commissioner. S12 of the Freedom of information Act 2000 provides an exemption from the obligation to comply with a request for information if the estimated costs of complying with that request would exceed the prescribed appropriate limit.

We estimate that the costs of complying with your request would exceed the appropriate limit by a significant amount.

For this reason we feel unable to comply with this request.
