Test and Trace Support Payment

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I kindly request the following information:

Please can you tell me the number of applications made to your local authority for the £500 Test and Trace Support Payment between 28 September 2020 and 21 January 2021.

Of these, I would like to know the number of:

• Applications approved and paid

• Applications rejected

• Any pending applications

Please note - do not include anyone who applied for the discretionary payment.

Response

Total applications up to 21 January 2021 for both schemes = 634

On the information provided by applicants on their form this equates to 308 for the main scheme and 326 for the discretionary scheme.

Please can I add though that when assessing the eligibility criteria on the applications, there have been occasions where a customer had indicated they would be for one scheme when in fact they have had to come under the other. So when the applications are considered and processed, this could change.

We have paid out on 75 main scheme applications

We have rejected a total of 263 claims (for both the main scheme and discretionary, this figure isn't split between the two schemes)

We have 229 applications pending (for both the main scheme and discretionary, this figure isn't split between the two schemes)
