Number receiving Council Tax Discount SMI Disregard

Responded Wed 29 January 2020Please can you tell me the number of households within your council who as at or around 1st January 2020:-
1. Are receiving Council Tax Discount SMI Disregard.
And of them:-
2. How many have been backdated to the date the GP certified they were suffering from Severe Mental Impairment (SMI).
Response
1. 207 households
2. It would take 34.5hrs to check all 207 for this information and would exceed the time limit set by the Information Commissioner, therefore I have checked 10 accounts. 50% of the accounts showed the disregard discount was granted from the date of the Doctor's letter and the remaining 50% were granted from the relevant benefit entitlement date as this was the later of the two dates.
