Please could you provide the following information:

1. Total number of empty dwellings in September 2019, including local authority properties and privately rented providers.

2. Total number of empty business dwellings or units in September 2019. If square footage information is available, please provide this information, e.g 10 business units, all of which at 2,000 square feet.

If the data is not available, please provide data from the closest calendar month.

Response

Q1 - 1158 empty domestic properties of which 171 are due to exemptions granted on the empty property for the following reasons: someone has passed away, gone into permanent care, property re-possessed, property unfit for habitation.

Q2 - There were 300 empty business units in September 2019. Hastings Borough Council only holds the square footage of 2 which are one measuring 1666 ft² and one measuring 441ft²
