Burial Plots

I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Please could you tell me the following:

- The current number of burial plots available within the Council sites?

- How many burial plots you have in total across the councils' sites?

- When do you estimate you will run out of available burial plots?

- Are there plans for any new sites?

Response

Not all sections have been drawn up yet but we do have the last estimate which was 2012.

Traditional Graves - 1976

Lawned Graves - 3207

Natural Graves - 771

Cremated Remains Plot - 1834

We only have the one cemetery but our current burial rate we are using around 70-80 new full earth grave plots so at least 30-40 years of new ground to use.

We do not have plans in place for a new cemetery as of yet.
