Dog Wardens

1. For each year from 2005/6 to 2018/19 could you please tell me the total number of whole time equivalent dog wardens you employ?

2. For each year from 2005/6 to 2018/19 how many Commercial Breeding Establishments are there for dogs? (Commercial Breeding Establishments defined as 5 or more litters per year).

Q1 - Hastings Borough Council has not had any post specifically for Dog Wardens since 2013. It is not a statutory duty for a local council to employ a dog warden but we do need to provide a service in regard to stray dogs which is contracted out to Animal Wardens Limited. Prior to 2013 the council employed 2 dog wardens however, we have changed our systems therefore are unable to break down this information from 2005/6 - 2013.

Q2 - We issue no commercial breeder licences and have not done so for the years listed.
