FOI request (FOI217933)
Tall Buildings
Requested Tue 25 July 2017
Responded Tue 25 July 2017A) A list of the buildings within your borders that are considered tall buildings. The standard definition in use in building codes is 18m. If there is some other - hopefully similar - definition that would assist you in getting the information more easily, please do contact me. Ideally, we would get the height, too (either in storeys or as in metres/feet).
B) For each building, please state the postcode.
C) For each building, please state whether the buildings (whether they are for residential use, for example).
D) For each building, please state whether they are owned either by the local authority or a housing association.
E) If the information is held easily, please could you supply the date of construction? I would quite understand if that would cause a breach of section 10, however. So I leave that at your discretion.
I would hope either a planning or safety officer might have these numbers to hand.
Response
The Local Land Property Gazetteer holds address data but not building size. The Councils register of mandatory licence-able House of Multiple Occupation (HMO'S) which is available at https://www.hastings.gov.uk/housing/improvement/houses_multiple_occupation/moreinfo/HMO_publicregister/ provides such buildings which are 3 or more storeys. East Sussex Fire and Rescue (ESFR) have been developing a list based on local experience - this is not complete and is held presently by ESFR.
We are aware of the following tower blocks (owned and managed by Optivo, a Register Provider) which are more than 4 floors high:
Four Courts which comprises of:
Bevin Court, Stonehouse Drive, TN38 9DE
Kennedy Court, Stonehouse Drive, TN38 9DH
Churchill Court, Stonehouse Drive, TN38 9DG
Roosevelt Court, Stonehouse Drive, TN38 9DJ
