Sexual Violence

Responded Tue 14 March 20171. The number of incidents of sexual violence reported to local authorities in England in the last three (3) years by or on behalf of a victim/survivor of sexual violence where the act of sexual violence took place at or within the grounds of a building owned by or which was under the control of a local authority in England;
2. The number of incidents of sexual violence reported to a local authority in England in the last three (3) years by or on behalf of a victim/survivor of sexual violence where the act of sexual violence was committed by a person employed by a local authority in England and was connected to and arose in some way as a consequence of that persons employment by a local authority;
3. The number of civil actions that have been instigated against a local authority in England in the last three years and which have been brought as a consequence of an allegation of an act of sexual violence.
We are submitting requests under the Freedom of Information Act to local authorities in England to facilitate this research.
Please regard this request as a Freedom of Information Request made under the Freedom of Information Act.
We would be grateful to receive all information you hold on and in relation to the following:
(a) The number of incidents of sexual violence reported to your local authority in the last three (3) years by or on behalf of a victim/survivor of sexual violence where the act of sexual violence took place at or within the grounds of a building owned by or which was under the control of your local authority;
(b) The number of incidents of sexual violence reported to your local authority in the last three (3) years by or on behalf of a victim/survivor of sexual violence where the act of sexual violence was committed by a person employed by your local authority and was connected to and arose in some way as a consequence of that persons employment by your local authority
(c) The number of civil actions that have been instigated against your local authority in the last three years and which have been brought as a consequence of an allegation of an act of sexual violence.
We believe that the above satisfies the public interest test and does not constitute commercially sensitive data.

There have been no reports of any incidents of sexual violence occurring within Hastings Borough Council's owned buildings.
