I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information from Hasting Borough Council:

I would like to know how much public money the Hastings Borough Council has spent on Hastings Pier since it re-opened in October 2016.

Please provide the information in the form of a spreadsheet of expenses spent on Hastings Pier each quarter of the year from October 2016 to April 2018.  

We can advise that the only monies paid by the Council in respect of the Pier since April 2016 amount to £77,308.77 and this was paid on 1 May 2018 (following a request in 2017/18) in respect of a guarantee the Council gave in respect of a Community Builders loan from the Social Investment Business Foundation, which although outside of your requested dates may be  relevant. 

 

Discretionary Rate relief of £1,833.40 (in addition to mandatory relief) was granted to the Hastings Pier Charity in 2017/18.
