Please could you tell me what proportion of rubbish collected in the borough as "recycling" is incinerated, rather than the materials being sorted, and processed for reuse?

All recycling that is collected goes to a materials recovery facility (MRF) - only the contaminated/rejected recycling goes for incineration or sent to landfill. From 1st July 2016 to 30 June 2017 5995.4 tonnes of recycling was sent to a MRF, after processing, 169.14 tonnes was rejected and sent for incineration and 74.93 tonnes was sent to landfill. please note that incineration does create energy from waste.
